Female Rap Artist: 070 SHAKE
The latest artist catching the ear’s of many is husky-voiced rapper, 070 Shake, a member of rising New Jersey hip-hop collective, 070. Shake, a female rap artist like no other. With her tomboy looks, IDGAF attitude and Justin Bieber-meets-Post Malone sonic appeal.
Recent works from Shake range from her uptempo, uber catchy “Parental Advisory” that host a hypnotic hook and tuneful text. To Shake’s more emotional, tug at the heart-string record “PROUD.” Which talks about the pains of growing up un-supported but determined. Most recent track of Shake’s is, “Sunday Night“ which hones on the mystery that Shake poses. The mono-tone approach meshes with the arcane production of teammates JaySebastion & EtherPHX.
While Shake and her 070 counterparts PHI, J Sebastian, and Ether continue to buzz about their local Jersey hip-hop scene. The group is slowly starting to creep around territory outside of the tri-state area and with good reason. The production in many of Shake’s tracks boast a (familiar-sounding) hazy, snare-happy trap beat. However, the artist’s genre-warped, baritone vocal spits, and gritty realness land her in a category of her own.
Shake was also featured on the new mixtape recently released by rapper, Fabolous. Titled, “Summertime Shootout 2,” which premiered on DATPIFF.COM, and be sure to peep more of her tracks here. Trust and believe Shake will be stirring up the blogosphere in no time, but don’t forget that you heard it here first.
SHAKE & 070 Rap Crew
070 Shake and the New Jersey rap crew 070 came through with a brand new record in August titled, “Honey.” The up-and-coming Jersey star rides along with group members Ralphy River, Hack, and Tree. To give us an eclectic track. It pretty much sounds tailor made to rock on dance floors everywhere.
“Honey,” was produced by Kompetition and has a strong dance sound, combined with infectious melodies, and a solid hook. It premiered on both Complex and 1AM Radio on Dash radio. The record was also played on #NewMusicMondays featuring Skepta.
